Gizzy’s Gift
Gizzy’s Gift, is Tiny Paws’ hospice program which provides loving, forever foster home care to senior dogs with terminal diagnoses or those with hard to adopt disabilities. It was established in the memory of our first senior hospice dog, Gizmo (aka “Gizzy”).
Senior dogs are often surrendered by their previous owners for various reasons. These medically needy dogs may be blind or deaf, suffer loss of urine/bowel control, or be unable to walk. They may need to wear diapers, be hand fed, or have medications administered.
In addition to a loving home, we provide these precious seniors with all veterinary care needed for quality of life, and a peaceful, dignified, loving journey over the Rainbow Bridge when it is felt that quality of life has come to an end.
Gizzy’s Story
Gizzy, who was blind and terminally ill, was taken everywhere by his foster mom, carried in a pouch or in a stroller. He loved to be outside and feel the warmth of the sun on his face. Although Gizzy graced us with his beautiful presence for only four months before succumbing to his illness, he passed peacefully having known the love of humans and surrounded by people who adored him.
